No golf last night, and I'm glad. Right about the time our second round would have started we began getting severe thunderstorm warnings. Right now I'm waiting for an ark to come pick me up, but before that I'll give you another mega-movie that even I have seen. #8: E.T. The Extra Terrestrial It's funny how time slips away, as Willie Nelson once wrote. When this movie came out the movie studio was adamant that no previews or photos could show what E.T. looked like. Well, now we all know how butt ugly he is. A heartwarming, funny (and at times sad) family film about a boy who finds an alien who's stranded on earth and wants to go home, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial was one of the biggest-grossing films of all time and the highest-grossing film of the 1980s. The only downside to this movie is that it spawned probably the worst song of Neil Diamond's career: "Heartlight." Yuck. Oh, well. The movie's great, and the song wasn't in the movie. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial Directed by Steven Spielberg Released in 1982 Here's a cute song centered around E.T.'s constant request in the movie:
Here's a happy little E.T. song to brighten your day. Cheers, my internet friends. @musicalscience youtube.com/melodysheep Help us caption & translate this v...

This will shock and appall people: if I were to make a list of movies I have seen and thought vastly overrated E.T. would be high up.

This was basically an 80s Disney flick with a big-name director. If it had actually been marketed as a Disney flick it would have had the box office results to match.

@JohnRoberts -- those were his days, my friend, we thought they'd never end. Oh, wait.... Four of the top ten highest grossing films of the 80s were Spielberg films. I'm sure he's not upset if people say this film is too cutesy or hasn't aged well. "I can't hear you, I've got these wads of $1000 bills in my ears."

I saw it when it came out and several times since. The kids like the movie and so did I.

ET phone Home! It was a cute movie, but I liked Close Encounters better.

It is so weird seeing Drew Barrymore being a small child here and now she is a Playing a mother role in Santa Clarita diet show.

I loved the movie when I saw it. And ET´s ugliness still was not disgusting at all. I saw the movie again on TV a couple of months ago and it had not aged well. The children were too naïve as compared to children nowadays.
