Catching Up With a Friend

My best friend and I have been playing phone tag for weeks.
I called her, she wasn't home so I left a message.
She called me, I wasn't home, she left a message.
And that's what's been going on .
Today I called her, she answered the phone and we both started laughing. I totally expected to leave another message so hearing her voice surprised me.
We had a marathon phone call and caught up finally. We do keep in touch through Facebook but nothing beats a conversation.
I really do miss her. We are best friends and used to spend all of our free time together. Now we both live near our children but not each other.
Talking to her today was great but it makes me miss her even more.

Yes, there are some friends like that but life has taken us some distance and thank goodness we have the phone.

Yes technology has come so far that staying in touch isn't as hard as it once was.

Yes we are in different states but hopefully one day we can plan to meet and have a reunion.

I have conversations like that with my sisters. Sometimes we connect through Facebook....sometimes we phone....sometimes we actually talk....face to face!

It's hard when so much distance is between you and the ones you love. Thank goodness for all the technology we have which helps us keep in touch.

It can be really hard sometimes to catch up with people. I'm glad you were able to talk to your friend. And you're right - nothing beats an actual conversation.
