Is Imran Khan the first ever sports personality to become president/prime minister?

Recently Imran Khan got elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan. He was one of Pakistan's best cricketer. Are there any other prime ministers or presidents who were sportsmen. I know a lot of celebrities and actors who have done this.

I think no one become a PM from the sports category. Sachin Tendukar is member of Rajyasabha.

Yes. But Sachin didn't attend any parliamentary sessions and failed to do any of his duties or responsibilities. He returned his salary in shame.

@Sreekala I don't agree with what he did. What if all the doctors take their fee, not do anything and then give it off to some charity and say they have done their duty?

@pitstop I heard some criticism against him as MP in Rajyasabha. He proved his greatness by returning the salary.

many sports persons and celebrities join politics and get recognized easily because of the stardom. But I haven't heard of PM or President who was sports person earlier

Many celebrities have become politician but I can not recall any one who made it to PM or President. Trump has acted in few Hollywood movies but I do not recall a sports person.

Lots of celebs become politicians. You're right. I also cannot think of sports personnel who have become politicians.
