Every night once the sun is down I watch this spider go up and down her web. She is outside the window where I am on my computer. I think she likes the light, or rather the bugs that are attracted to the light. Last night I happened to have the camera close beside me. I went out the door and worked at taking pictures of the beastie. The best shot is this one, where she appears to be looking at us with angry eyes. I have not researched to find out what kind she happens to be.

Oh my, that is a big spider, I would be getting a stick and taking it down but thats just me! Guess it gives you something to watch though when it traps a bug.

As long as she stays outside, I am fine. She can eat all the other critters she wants.

@GardenGerty Thats true, she is eating all the bugs but it would still scare me. I am terrified of spiders

Not as big as the one last year, but big enough. I would not want to squish her and have guts everywhere.

I don't know what kind it is, but I like to watch spiders do their thing. I had some kind of orb weaver in the window of two different houses and left them to watch. They're cool until the babies hatch and they are everywhere! The last time, the web got torn down from a bad rain/hail storm.

I am very entertained by seeing them work so hard at their daily tasks.

Looks like an orb weaver. Perhaps Black and Yellow Argiope? Check this guy out, also from the genus Argiope

She might be, I am not sure. Her legs were not as long and straight. Either last year or more likely the year before I had one that is sometimes called the writing spider. She spun a different web. One reason I agree this one may be like your example is the type of web she weaves.

As long as she stays outside and does not chase me through the grass I am fine with her sharing my world.

@GardenGerty I fear that they come inside and then crawl into my bed.

This is different from the one I had last year. It was even bigger. I wish my picture showed better. This one looks like she has big yellow eyes staring at me.
