Spoken Word now the new trend in poetry by the generation called millenials. I just love this new art in poetry, the free verse line and the feelings and art in every word the poet recite. I was invited as one of the judge during the celebration of Youth Week. The contest has a theme on youth's rights and space. The participants include student of high school and colleges. I was a little bit dismayed. The contestants seem delivering speech, singing a song or like a speaker in the graduation day. I cannot feel their poem. Their facial reaction is different from what they are saying. They have no musical score. Or maybe I was expecting too much from them so I was disappointed. Sometimes I write spoken word and read them in my radio program.

That's what I observed. But knowing millenials they should be the one who know better than other generations. Its a good start though.

Maybe they did not understand the concept. That happened with projects my grandchildren had. I helped them to understand the concept and than they did better than the rest of the class.,

I presumed that too. Sometimes they just rely to what is given to them. If only they can dig deeper.
