Do you remember the discussion I posted about "pressing down"? I pressed down a small slice of ginger with root in a moist soil in a flower pot. I also confirm that I have no green thumb so I expected the ginger root to dry up and die. The other 2 slices of ginger did not grow...except this. Yesterday when I arrived home, my sister gleefully told me to look at the flower pot where I pressed down some ginger. I did and I had no idea that these rolled leaves are already my ginger growing. Oh! I cannot contain my smile and joy. It is because I defied my own thoughts that I cannot grow or tend a plant. Now, I have to wait for a couple of weeks more to see if the ginger that I planted will grow. My sister also planted many ginger roots and they are growing, even the pineapple head she planted has new leaves growing from inside.

Congratulations then for successfully growing ginger plant. It is a prolific root grower once it is able to establish itself in then you can get endless supply of ginger. It really doesn’t need much care just watering it every now and then and sunshine will make it grow. If you do have a lawn you can let it grow there and am pretty sure it will grow fast.

@ridingbet this plans actually can adjust to any if the conditions are right for them. There are things you shouldn't do like over watering them.

@rsa101 for me, when i planted lady fingers or okra, i did not water them frequently, and it was fortunate because they grew fruit vegetables.

@Mavic123456 how about posting here how your ginger grows? even if it assumes a peculiar position, it is still good because you can grow ginger.

@LadyDuck i think along with ginger, we also use the garlic and onions, or tomatoes, and ginger as our basic 'condiments' for cooking. me, i can eat a young ginger with fish paste, as my appetizer. i think i made a discussion about this.

yes she has. she can grow and tend the plants in our lawn. me, even mowing, i don't do. first, it may tire me, and second, i hope the withered plants won't die if i touch them.

i think there are many roots that can be planted in makeshift pots, like bottles cut in half.
