Another Sad day for the Country

I just saw on television that John McCain had passed away today. I have always liked him as he seemed to be a kind man. He was held prisoner of war in Vietnam for many years. He went through a very long time being held prisoner and having many health issues after his release. He was a presidential candidate against President Obama. He served our country for many years as did his father and grandfather. They were both Navy Admirals. His sons are also in the military. The other night on television I saw where he was taken off all meds as he had a brain tumor. I knew then he would not have much time left. At least he is not suffering any longer. RIP Mr. McCain

Yes he was and he always looked so kind. I cannot even imagine the pain he went through for so many years.

It is sad, he was a man who was strong in his convictions.

He had to know the medicine was not doing anything and sometimes the treatments are worse than the illness.

Obviously, John McCain was an upright man. He stood by his principles even when he was incarcerated and tortured in Vietnam. Sad that those with such ideals are not elected to the highest post. His mother is alive, aged 106 years - siva

I went back and forth as to whether I actually liked him or not, but I am sad that he is gone. He had a legacy to pass on. Not many will serve our country like he did.

Just thinking about him being tortured made me sad. He always had a kind face and the kind of person I would have loved to meet.

I was surprised at how fast. They announced on the evening news that he had stopped treatment and just a couple of hours later announced that he was gone.
