I think I have a problem

I know there's AA and NA, but is there a PA (Photography Anonymous)? I find my self taking pictures of pictures. The first step is to admit I need help. It's not enough that I have hundreds of photos on my phone. I take pictures of framed pictures that were taken with my phone. I take pictures of old photos in albums in case they burn. I have a list that could be used if anyone starts a PA chapter in my area. 1. Don't keep more than 75 photos on your phone. 2. Don't take photos of photos. One is enough. 3. Quit taking so many daggon pictures! 4. Put the phone down and LIVE IN THE MOMENT. 5. So what if your hair didn't look exactly right? You don't need to have someone take 23 pictures of you to get one that you really like. 6. Life is more than photos. 7. Last and most importantly: Living life is much more meaningful than always having 187 photos of the event. If you hear of a PA chapter in NC, please let me know. Okay, pardon me, but I have to transfer some photos from my phone to my desk top PC in case my phone dies.

I think if you formed a group like that many people would share the same criteria!

I'm pretty sure there are many, many others out there who need help too!

Don't people save all their stuff in clouds nowadays? I'm a very harsh critic of my own photos. So, if I had taken 23 photos of myself at a special occasion, I'd go through them and eliminate all but, say, two or three.

I don't do clouds. But I know how you feel about your own photos. I like maybe 1 or 2 out of 30 of myself.

@1creekgirl Do you delete the ones you don't like? I do this at once.

@MALUSE Absolutely. I have trouble parting with all the pictures that I like of everyone, but I can delete photos of myself in a heartbeat!

I do not like the photos of myself, I have a very few that are saved on the digital camera cards and I made back-ups on an external HD. I printed some of those I like more, I trust more the paper than the digital supports, how many years will they last?

@1creekgirl Printed photos last many years, it's the digital supports that I do not know how long would last. USB keys do not last long, the HD have longer life.

I'm not sure how long digital prints will last. I've had a few of my favorites printed.

@1creekgirl So, is there an anonymous program for people taking too many pictures? so you like taking pictures.

I don't think there's really a self-help program for taking too many photos! With digital cameras on our phones, it's just so easy to take hundreds.

I have never been one for pictures. And its funny that I read this and until now, I never realized that there were people out there that did really enjoy taking and being in pictures. I did go thru a phase in my early 20's where I liked to take pictures, but as a result of that phase I was never in any either.

Yeah, I'm usually the one taking the photos, so I'm not in all of them either.

Hahahaha you made me laugh but I can understand your photo obsession. The only person I know who probably has as many or more photos on their phone is my granddaughter. She told me she took over 1,000 pictures when she was in Italy over the summer.

@1creekgirl I don't know if she deleted any of them (I would think she would have). I had forgotten about it until you mentioned all the pictures you have. Now I'll have to ask her

I hope you may get the help you need but these days Vicki, it seems everyone is a photo addict. I can honestly say I will not and do not take photos as for me, I would have to have some proper camera to do so which I dont.

Seriously, I'm beginning to see that I'm missing life by always being behind a cell phone camera.
