Reuseable Paper Towels of "Unpaper Towels"

United States

I'd seen this a few years ago, and had considered it then. I know these things can be found on places amazon, but etsy sellers make them to. The kind that snap, or maybe some with velcro (I'm not sure). Some etsy sellers tag it as "Reuseable toilet roll" as well. No, thank you. I would use it as a paper towel, but I couldn't see using it as toilet paper. I've thought about buying one or two of these rolls. Trying them out. It would be different, for sure, but worth it as well. Would you, or have you, used cloth paper towels?

Cloth paper towels yes. But using them as toilet paper, no thank you!

I could see myself using them for myself, but I wouldn't for anyone else. Like, I could deal with my own bodily fluids, but not with anyone else's.

Sounds like a good idea. But will it always work. Everyone has to be on board. And besides, I find paper towels on sale all the time. And I buy them in bulk.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes I mean everyone in the household. Not everyone is going to take the time to do that and use them. Paper towels seems to be much more friendly with everyone here. So I stick with that. I don't mind buying recycled paper towels though. Or should I say paper towels made from recycled paper.

When you say "everyone has to be on board" do you mean "Everyone" in the household? I don't know, for some reason, the phrasing made me think of a more vast number than just that of a household. For here? I do the laundry. For here? It's not about the savings of not having to buy paper towels, but of saving trees, even if only a few.

@inertia4 The Seventh Generation brand? I haven't tried those yet. I prefer softer towels, and I am not sure that is what Seventh Generation has.

I'd use them as cloth paper towels. That's about it.

Yes, I wouldn't use them for my bodily functions, that's for sure. Not unless it was ONLY my bodily functions and not everyone else's.

We use dish towels but that's mostly for drying the pots and pans that I handwash, or for the occasional spill that is easier to get up with a dish towel. We use way too many paper towels here.

@LadyDuck I don't fry foods. Well, okay, that's not strictly true. I do fry potatoes, but it's very rare. I don't even cook bacon that often, though when I do, it's usually at the same time I am frying the potatoes.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I almost never use paper towels, only to place fried items on them to absorb the excess of oil.

Paper towels for the kitchen, yes. For toilet, Io not think so.

@rakski We have it a lot better than our ancestors did when it comes to using the bathroom.

Agreed. I use toilet paper and the occasional wet napkin.

Not yet. Thank you for putting this idea out there. I need to research this product ASAP. There is a nice YouTube about this method.
No dispenser needed for these reusable paper towels. Save your budget and quit buying paper towels. You won't even need to pull out your sewing machine! Than...

I might have to look this video up, especially since it says "You won't even have to pull out your sewing machine." I hope there is no sewing involved at all, I can't sew.

I have not seen cloth paper towels anywhere. I would use them if I found them.

I think amazon has them, but I've not seen them whilst out shopping.
