Two Chapters and a Movie

Would any of you like the job of a massage therapist? By the end of the day, my back is the worse for wear, sitting in this chair. They started doing massages at the Y about a month ago. As soon as this book is finished I just might sign up for a good half-hour session.
I got two chapters finished and then called it a day on the book, and went to my recliner and the massage pad and a movie. Someone here recommended Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society a few days ago. It was the first movie to appear on Netflix and I just finished watching it. Wonderful movie. I'm so glad I read that review, I might have passed up a real treasure of a movie.
I shared in my last post that I had a Medicare Wellness appointment with the doctor today. That was fun. Read the facetiousness between the lines. My doctor was running late, so what was supposed to be an 11:20 appointment, turned into a noon appointment. My blood pressure didn't want to cooperate and had to be taken four times before they got a good reading. Then it was all the questions, an eye exam, and an EKG and I was almost ready to leave. I did say they would want bloodwork, so fasting until I got home was a good idea.
I weighed myself early this morning so I would know my true weight before I got there. However, in this case, I'll take their weight over mine as it was 2 pounds less than what my scale showed.
It was a full two and a half hours before I got back here. I spent a couple hours working on Thread of Evidence before the movie.
All in all, it was a good day. My breakfast, lunch, and it seems supper too was eggs, steak, and baked sweet potatoes. I'm eating the peelings now. It's a real treat, like candy. Believe me, I never thought I would put those two together in the same sentence as something I love, but I've grown to like sweet potatoes, as long as it has plenty of cinnamon on them.
Now, I'm going to interact for the rest of the day, which is or isn't a lot of time, since it's going on 8 now.
That has been my day. How was yours? Thanks for reading.

My better half had two appointments today. One in the morning and the other in the afternoon. We had about an hour and a half wait for the one in the afternoon so both appointments seemed to take up most of our day. I did laundry and cooking between times, then my sister called and later my son. I feel like it's been a long day. Did you get a high or low blood pressure reading? Your food sounds good to me.

I'm glad it was a good day overall.
Never heard of that movie, but probably isn't one I'd be interested in anyways.
Way to go on the book! But I do think you deserve a nice massage!

I thought we were going to get rain. The clouds were dark and brooding, but now the sky has some blue and the sun is out again.

when we boil some sweet potatoes, we leave the peelings on and eat the root crop with it while dipping in sugar.

When I have to deal with doctors being late my blood pressure rises and just makes a mess of things. I need a good massage as well. The kids are ok at it but they don't like to contribute much.

@just4him Yes, I try to bring a book as well or usually I have my phone which has my Amazon Kindle link on it. I take my electronic book. It does help to pass the time. I hate clock watching and the tv in the doctor's office can be tedious. When I take the kids to their doctor's appointments they have a health channel on. It just keeps repeating the same thing over and over again. They have a balanced diet video and a diabetes video. One would think that they would offer kids cartoon channels or something of the sort to pass the time. My regular doctor always plays the national news channels. That is so aggravating to hear as well. They talk about the same things over and over again.

Usually, I have a book to read. This time I didn't bring anything to read so the time dragged. I found myself constantly watching the clock as well as the soap on TV. Not into soaps and really would have rather watched something else, but that wasn't an option.

@Shellyann36 They run soaps here. Not good, on any front. When I did laundry at the laundromat, the person in charge gave me the remote once so I wouldn't be subjected to 'Talk'. I hate talk shows. I put it on HGTV. Now, that's a channel I could live with all the time.

We drove back from Vermont today so that took up over 3 hours. We then took our grandson Brandon out to a Chinese lunch /dinner. Sounds like you got a lot done in spite of the long doctor's appointment.

I would prefer receiving than giving the massage. Although I have given my girlfriend a back rub sometimes. I like sweet potatoes too. Very healthy for you in so many ways....

@just4him I have done self massages with a tennis ball. Not bad for breaking up tight muscles. I did buy those massagers they sell in stores. They worked with mixed results.
