Copyright Issue: Shhh! It is...

our secret and no one will ever know. I have this concern with the company that I am working for a couple of years now. Most of the lessons were provided, but I am quite concerned with the photos or images being used. In short, it was being copied and not free for use. Personally, it is fine to indicate the source of them or to give credit to the owners. At the back of my mind, it wasn't right at all. But then, I just kept in silence for the sake of keeping my job with this online teaching company. "What do you think about it?" "Do you put the credit with the photos being used here?" I always put credit on photos I borrowed or grabbed. Hmm... How did they manage to have a big online company if they provide stolen photos?

Actually, the lessons are exclusively in the company. It cannot be seen on the internet, but they got the photos from the Internet. The virtual teachers and online students can only see it during the class.

A common rule is that you can use the photos and give credit if it's for "personal" use, not to use them commercially. Here we are not required to give credit.

I agree. I am not sure who is the member called my attention before. It doesn't need to put credit to the owners.

@Shavkat Alex wrote a comment many months ago saying that he is not at all concerned about the photos. They are strict about posting copyrighted text.

@LadyDuck Okay. I guess they need to weigh things up when deleting some posted discussions. I had seen some similar texts, but the admin deleted it.

I always give credit where its due. Not that I usually use any image that belongs to other places or people. Some do use photos or images anyway without the persmission of others.

I had experienced this before in LB. Some members used my photos and the worst part, they copied the articles.

I guess I adapt the simple practice because it is needed in making write-ups offline, too.

But will you tell them that they are disobeying the intellectual property rights?

@Shavkat will you be in trouble just in case the rightful owner claims his/her rights?

I think it is also fine. As long as it was indicated in the write-ups.

I like to give credit if I don't use our own photos but I guess if the company isn't worried you can't afford to be.

t is right to give credit to the original owners of the photos. If you won't then you will be guilty of copyright laws!

That's what I am pointing to, my friend. The LB's admin cannot realize this when I am still active there. Some members did this to me not only once or twice, but a couple of times and even the write-ups.

@Shavkat no need to credit your own work, but it never hurts to do so...
