They know, don't they?

I'm talking about electronic devices. I had to print out a form (in triplicate, yet) yesterday and my printer said, "Nope, I need black ink". I had wanted to get the form in the mail before the weekend, it being Labour Day on Monday. So I went down to the library to print it out. And that printer was being recalcitrant. I had to ask it twice.

Maybe you forgot to say, "pretty please." Printers are sensitive about such things.

Unpredictable to us, but they can predict the most inconvenient time to close up shop.

I went to Best Buy and Costco and they just had the combo packs. I finally found just the black cartridge in an independent computer shop in a small mall. $58.93 with tax.

When I had a cordless mouse, it always asked for fresh batteries when I was in the middle of some "timed" exercise.

I have found it cheaper, because of the price of ink, to print one from home and take the rest to the library. I have to print about 20 pages here soon and 19 I will pay $1.90 at the library.

My library charges 20 cents per page b&w, 40 for color.

maybe your printer needs love so that it doesn't recalcitrant anymore.

I wish you all would use unusual words more often. I learned recalcitrant from Pony almost 2 years ago. I am mighty pleased I have not forgotten its meaning but the way you used it made it difficult not to know what it meant. :)
