Here is the next addition of music trivia tunes which uses a travel term or theme in its title. It's time to use a different mode of transportation! So, let me take you on a "Sea Cruise" as the performer of this classic, Frankie Ford, might sing. Oo-ee, oo-ee baby, here are today's trivia song clues....Makes one want go on a PARTY BOAT! Enjoy the tune! Can you name these songs and artists. Here Are Your Clues: 1. This is such a smooth sounding song written about summer, and a peaceful method of traveling with a friend on the water. Released in 1980, this soft rock tune hit # 1 on Billboard's Hot 100. The artist, from San Antonio Texas considers this track his favorite. The song spawned a genre called "Yacht Rock," a form of easy listening music favored by the rich. This recording artist won three Grammy Awards for this song: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist. The following year he won an Oscar for best song for a motion picture. This album also produced another song about travel which reached # 2 on the charts. 2. These three muscians formed this Supergroup in 1968 after previous success in other bands. The mystery song was written on the schooner of one of the band members. Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane, who was also onboard, contributed lyrics to this tune. This was an anti-war song about survival, the survivors escaping on a boat to create a new civilization after the world's end. This Folk-Rock trio whose group name came from the initials of their last names played at Woodstock in 1969. Bonus: This band was a 60's "beat group" from Liverpool, England. Their manager also managed another English group who famously lead the "British Invasion" into the United States. This tune was written by the lead singer whose first name is part of the band's name. The song is about a vessel which ran along a river in Liverpool. This track was also the title of a musical film the group starred in. Liner Note: -Herman's Hermits covered the song "Sea Cruise" in 1965 on the album Introducing Herman's Hermits. So Whodunnit? If your stuck and need additional help just let me know in your response. As always thanks for reading and responding to my music post !!!! Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com Photo- pixabay.com

1. I remember Jimmy Buffett on Letterman's show in the early 80s ripping that song without mentioning the song or the artist: "I really can sail, unlike these people writing songs about sailing who look like they couldn't tie a knot in a Hefty trash bag." Yeah, I know it's hokey, but I do love to listen to Mr. Cross' debut album every now and then, especially "Poor Shirley." 2. Dave, Steve, and Graham! Why didn't they go with that instead of their last names?? Love their 1977 CSN album, which would have been "DSG" if that HAD gone by their first names! Bonus: I'm gonna need a pacemaker if I can't figure that one out! Thanks again for all of these great trivia discussions!!!

@1hopefulman I agree, they have other songs which were much more popular. Jefferson Airplane also recorded Wooden Ships. I like their version better.

@dgobucks226 Ferry cross the Mersey is more the kind of music myvDad listened. I’m also a Liverpool fan and Gerry and the Pacemakers sang our anthem You’ll never walk alone.Though I do know it is from a musical but that’s not where I know it from.

The only ocean-going vessel I know by any group is Yellow Submarine by the Beatles. But since that is definitely not one of your answers, I haven't a clue. Now, as always happens, once you give out the names of those songs and the artists, my brain is going to go DUH.

Well, I appreciate your reading my post. #2 you might know the group. Their initials are CSN which represents their last names. The title of the song is another name for a boat or vessel made from non-steel material. Any idea? Here are 1 & 3 Trivia Answers 1. Sailing- Chris Cross Bonus- Ferry Cross The Mercy- Gerry & The Pacemakers
