My daughter brought in some twigs of lavender the other evening. We have some growing out back. It has such a interesting musky and earthy sort of smell. So comforting and relaxing. I guess my favorite scent of fall. What is yours?

I'm not sure how to describe the dusky smell of autumn leaves and the pungent smell of wood burning. I know winter is close, then my favorite smell of all - snow in the air.

I love lilacs' scent. I was watching TV the other day and the characters were wearing jackets, the sky was cloudy and leaves were falling. I could actually smell the damp Autumn air with a hint of fireplace smoke and the promise of snow. I will probably never smell that lovely scent again here in the desert but it was an amazing olfactory experience and memory. I think that is my favorite Fall scent!

I love lavender. There's a lavender ranch not far from us, and I just love visiting there. They put out a lot of products I like, too. Lotions, soaps, etc. Really I love the scent of wood smoke best, when it finally gets cool enough for people to use their wood stoves. That may be my favorite.\. I feel funny saying that because of the awful smoke from all the fires in our state this summer. But that smoke is full of toxins from houses and other buildings burning. The wood smoke is different, kind of reminds me of camping.

That would be nice. Smoke is not good at all. We have it pretty bad where I live.
