Love at First Sight / myLot

When one thinks of love at first sight, one usually thinks of romantic love. I have never felt that kind of love at first sight. But the first time I saw my niece, Amyra, I knew what love at first sight felt like. Amyra is now seven (pictured), and my nephew, Hudson (also in picture), turns three in about ten days. Both are adopted, and some may remember Hudson has fetal alcohol syndrome because his birth mother was an alcoholic. He is still behind a "normal" three year old, but he can walk, and he can say a few sentences now, although he usually just uses single words. His physical therapist has taught him sign language, so he can communicate that way to let us know what he wants. Romantic or otherwise, did you ever experience love at first sight?

What a beautiful photo, and I'm so happy to hear that Hudson is doing so well and receiving the treatment he needs. They have both grown so much and Amyra is looking like a young lady now! I can see why it was love at first sight for you! It was love at first sight when each of my boys were placed in my arms immediately after they were born and the exact same with my grandchildren. I still feel that love and it gets stronger with each passing moment. My heart bursts with the love I feel for them as I know yours does, too!

They are such beautifully cute children. And Amyra has that look of confidence about her that usually we only see on adults. I was lucky enough to experience love at first site a couple of times in my life. When I first laid eyes on my husband, it was love at first sight, and for us both. Cupid shot an arrow thru our hearts that night!

And I remember the births of our children, that again, was love at first sight. And such a sweet love.

Yes. The other day Amyra made Hudson a cardboard "rocket ship". She was so proud of herself. She dragged him around making "whooshing" noises.

Yes, I did. It was during my high school years. Though some may think of it as just a crush but I do think that it was love at first sight. She ended being my girlfriend but as years pass by, things change and we ended up marrying different people. But I still respect my love at first sight, and we are still friends up until now.

I think most mothers feel overwhelming love for their children when they are born, I was quite taken aback when it happened to me. Amyra and Hudson look adorable.
