Why waste your time in mylot?

If you have a single ounce of doubt that mylot is a scam, why would you even waste your time writing a lot of discussions in a single day?
Whe I first joined mylot several years ago, I never really thought it would pay me at all. But I never doubted it was a scam. I just thought that if I was enjoying interacting, it would be a bonus to get paid. Then I saw that my earnings were increasing as my ratings got higher and that got me excited. But still I didn't think mylot would pay me at all. I had never been to any other paying sites to interact like this one so I never really had any idea. But I was spending my time more here than on facebook and I saw that my earnings were increasing.
Then I got paid and I was so happy for the $10 that I earned. Wasn't much but then again, I was jus interacting and I got paid for doing so when facebook wasn't giving me a few cents at all!
The only proof that mylot isn't a scam is to check active members' profile and check how long they have been here. People won't stay for years in a site that would rip them off.

Well said. The core members of this site have been here for a very long time. Part of me is happy that it is impossible to make a living on this site. It keeps away the idiots that have destroyed so many other sites with their greed. I get to interact with friends and every once in a while I hit payout and get a little money. That all gets invested in my woodworking endeavors. Works just the way I like it.

We're privileged to even get paid just to enjoy interacting. It's just sad that other members are here solely for the money so they get stressed with how little the site pays and then they would go saying it's a scam.

@koopharper Like bubblews.. I think they failed to know what mylot really is. Mylot is not a blog site, it's not an article writing site. It's a discussion site where we get paid for interacting and not merely writing an article. That's why most people love it here in mylot because we can be free with our words, as long as they stay within the guidelines. .

@toniganzon Unfortunately too many "writers" online are thinking they can earn a living on sites like this and then get butthurt when they find out that isn't how things work. There was a time when you could write large volumes of garbage online and actually make significant money but those kinds of things never last.

Yes, most people like and appreciate the fact they get paid here, and it matters to an extent..if they stopped paying, no one would be here..but it is more for fun and interaction, than the small amount we make here.

@toniganzon Yes, they have unrealistic expectations. I mean they think starting 40 discussions at once is the way to do it! When they get poor results they move on.

Thanks jobs! I stay here not merely for the money but because mylot is my escape from the real world. I can be me here without being judged. I can have fun, flirt a little without harming anybody, laugh, and just be crazy without being too uptight. Those things I cannot do with my real life because I have to be prim and proper and be a role model to the people around me.

@jobelbojel Right, I have established relationship with members here from the time I joined mylot because I saw mylot as a social networking site.. You won't get people to talk to you if you don't approach them first. I guess that's why in the old mylot my ratings were very high.

I think most of the people who are here don't think the site is a scam. But if they don't earn the amount they think they should have earned for the amount of time they spent here then they probably think they have wasted their time. I know this because people in other forums talk a lot about MyLot. A lot! None of them say this site is a scam.

@cmoneyspinner The discussion I'm referring to is a very recent one. Mylot has existed for more than a decade even though it stopped paying for awhile in the old management. But it was revived and is still going strong.
To have doubts of mylot especially if someone is new in online earnings like this one is acceptable I think, but to claim it is a scam without verifying any details is just simply stupid..

@toniganzon - You're probably right. You mean ... there's another discussion? There's probably a bazillion discussions about MyLot at this site as well as at other sites all around the web. If you ask me I think people are wasting their time talking about it and saying the same thing over and over. How much convincing does a person need?
For the record though, MyLot is the first site I've ever been to where the accounts are really old!

I think people that don't care about money will stay on the site even if it doesn't pay them when it should. And I think most that don't get paid for one reason or another will think they were scammed, even if majority of the people always get their earnings.

Right, it's a great incentive for just writing what we want to without having to think if our writing is worthy enough to get paid. I think it's the relationship we establish here with people that mylot rewards us with a few cents.
