It's Coffee Time

Happy Monday Everyone and Happy Labor Day to all who are celebrating!
I had a pretty good nights sleep last night and woke up a little earlier than I normally do. I'm already up, showered, dressed and the bed is made. I'm going to sit here and enjoy my coffee and chat for awhile before my daughter gets home from her overnight at a friends.
It's cloudy this morning but it was cloudy yesterday too and then the sun came out. If it does then maybe we'll have a little barbecue in keeping with the holiday spirit. There were quite a few barbecues in the neighborhood yesterday because you could smell all the wonderful aromas.
Nothing exciting planned for today. I'm expecting a quiet day and hopefully we can catch up on some tv shows before the days ends. With all the new shows coming back my DVR is clogged with shows I haven't watched yet.
So now I'm going to enjoy my coffee and see what's happening here.

@Marilynda1225 Lunch was easy, pasta with home made sauce. For dinner I am going to make spicy Moroccan meatballs with eggplants.

Good morning!
We were up a bit earlier then we usually do today also, but we did retire a little earlier last night.
I had a crock pot of baked beans on until a few minutes ago-I've always wanted to make some from scratch. But I needed the crock pot for the roast beef that I'm doing for supper, so out came the beans and after a quick wash, in went the seasoned roast.
I am finishing the beans off on the stove top. And since I've never done them from scratch before we really do not have anything to compare them to. My husband tasted them a bit a ago and thought they were still too hard, but loved the sauce.
Slow cooking (because the a/c is on) is all that I plan on doing today.

@Marilynda1225 I did a small batch of them, and we had some for lunch. They were really nice. It was the beans themselves that I did not know how to prepare. But with the help of another myLot member, Izzy, and some online research, I figured it out.
We still have a lot left over, but I'll put them into the freezer.
Now I've got a small roast beef in the slow cooker for supper. Its too hot to heat up the house with the oven being on.

Hope your beans come out delicious. I like baked beans but have never attempted doing them from scratch. I love using the crock pot too since the oven heats up the house too much.

Got a few household chores on the agenda but otherwise won't be doing a lot today. The sunshine is back so it looks to be a really nice one here.

Mama and I don't have a grill. Maybe I'll make cheeseburgers and pretend I barbecued, lol. Or have chicken with barbecue sauce on them. We've been retired for years, but I'm grateful to the unions for making my working years better ones. So I should make some Labor Appreciation gesture like burgers, lol.

Our grill is on it's last legs so we'll be looking for a new one next season. I've grilled inside and it's just as good. Hope you have a good day

I have a ritual every day... morning iced coffee and evening/nightly iced coffee. So, I am having iced coffee with you!
I would love to have a BBQ.

Cloudy here. Rained last night. Dry now, but rain expected. We'll see.
I hope you get to barbecue. Sounds like it should be good for it.
The only show I need to look up is MacGyver. I don't have DVR so if I miss it, I need to watch it online on CBS directly.
I just looked it up, and looks like I'm going to be watching it online, as I have a Small Group (church group) in my home at that time.
