Trapped!

The hurricane barreled in. It started with a sprinkle and grew stronger. I needed to do stuff outside before it got worse. I started locking a deadbolt and a doorknob lock because of strangers prowling in the park at night. I pulled the knob to unlock it. It fell off and refused all efforts to fix it. Great, a storm is approaching and I am trapped in the house. Imagination plays tricks. Will they find me after I run out of food? Will I be trapped when the house crumbles in the wind? Anyway, after a few fumbled fix-it attempts, the door now opens and the knob is beautifully decorated with designer duct tape. Today, the sun is shining. Where did the hurricane go?

Oh, me too. Sometimes I think there is something weird about this house because so many whacky things happen here.

We have no maintenance. I am the person that fixes things unless I can get someone to do it for pay.

The worst part was supposed to be here this morning. It is starting to cloud up a lot so maybe we are in for more.

The hurricane felt sorry for you looking at the way you were struggling with that knob All's well that ends well.

There was no disaster here because my doorknob broke? That makes me feel better about it.

All is well, I can open the door and Gordon is a tropical storm now. That is still dangerous but not nearly as bad as a full-blown hurricane.

In the old days we risked to be "forgot in the house", but now we have cellphones and we can call for help.

Oh yeah, I did not think of that. My imagination works overtime and I often think of the silliest thing first.

Australia is an island. I don't understand why there would not be hurricanes. I am not wishing one on you but islands usually get them.

@JudyEv I am glad you don't live in the hurricane zone. We have had some bad ones here.

@akalinus It's where the islands are positioned that matters. The northern parts of Australia get hurricanes because they are in the right latitudes where the conditions are right for hurricanes to develop.

Thanks, Courage. I guess I do get dramatic sometimes. That is the only door out in the place but I have an escape window. I would have gotten out somehow.
