A Blind Dog Catcher, Hmmmmm........

Ok, this is a new one for me. My daughter and I had to go to the store late last night and we got home about 11 PM. We pulled in the driveway and the neighbor came over asking if we saw a man. My daughter looked down the street and said" that one"?
This guy was walking up the street and said, "you calling the cops on me" because our neighbor was on the phone. She said no and told us he was walking around shining a flashlight in the yards.
Here's the weird part, he was wearing sunglasses and carrying a lasso!!! He told us "it was really none of our business" but he is a dog catcher and was looking for a dog with a red bandanna because it was loose and had bitten someone. Excuse me, but you are wearing sunglasses in the middle of the night (he told us he is medically blind) and carrying a flashlight and lasso looking in yards, and by the way, where's your TRUCK. I think that makes it our business.
He got very rude and when we asked how he was going to capture it he said with his "cowboy rope",uhhh, wouldn't that be a lasso?? He then told us we were ridiculous and walked away.
How would you take that if you encountered someone like that?

I know Anna, it was odd but our neighborhood is full of police and their cars sit in the driveways so he would be stupid to try anything here. A lot of people also have cameras on their houses so one got pics of him while he was standing out there talking to us.

I would call the cops, this guy was looking for things to steal. And seeing who was watching.

Well he came to the wrong neighborhood because our street has two cops on it and there are more on every street, we just have to holler. We have a site that we can post neighborhood things on so we posted about it for the others to be cautious

Unless he has talents we do not know about then I would wonder about him. I think his method of a lasso is very cruel and the animal organizations should be told about it. What was that about a truck? He did not have to be rude to them.

@cintol Did the police check him out? Was he elderly or maybe under the influence of something?

@Debscrochet No, he was in his 30s and our neighborhood is full of cops and lots of cameras so we have his picture. We have a pretty safe neighborhood

More like a red flag with this guy. I think if was waving one of those it wouldn't have set off more alarms than he was already. Life is just sometimes weird but hope he wasn't/isn't dangerous.

Oh wow. That's weird.
I would assume he was either high on some kind of meds, drunk, or up to no good.

He didn't seem to be, he was just a jerk. This is a small town and my daughter is a probation officer here so she is going to call over to the Animal control today and ask if they have a "medically blind" catcher there that uses a lasso! lol

He might have been a dumb criminal, I was hoping to see him find the dog so I could see if he really knew how to use a lasso since he called it a cowboy rope!! I don't know how much he would have gotten away with having no truck, he was purely on foot but he also may have seen all the cop cars throughout the neighborhood as well.

My daughter checked him out and he is with animal control, they were not happy to hear how he treated us. Haven't seen him since. Your right, its a scary world these days

We have a pic of him on my neighbors camera and lots of cops in the neighborhood, he doesn't stand a chance here.
