DEATH SENTENCE

Okay I have to ask this... So rape in our country is like breathing and our gov does not think that we should have the death sentence here but instead give people whom rape and kill, three meals a day and a chance to study ect...
I feel that if you rape and or kill or even try to kill, you should be sentence to death but so many people seem to disagree with this statement!
Why would you feel they should not be sentenced to death?
Would you still feel that way if it happen to someone you know and or love?

It should be. Or do something brutal infront or everyone so that there will be fear for those who are planning to do rape.

The role of punishment is to make a person understand they did something wrong, not to avenge the victim or their family. At least that's how it works in a modern society, a tribe would work differently.
At best, law can consider the murder of a murderer as a extenuating circumstance.
However, we all have a primal emotional side that takes over and makes us more "tribal" than civilized. It shouldn't be taken as an insult, actually I believe tribes have their own advantages.

In Singapore they will be jailed for ten plus years and caned for several strokes. Those canes are not the child cane. The canes are really thick and the prisoners will not be able to sit for a long time
