Sounds fishy to me

Well, there really wasn't anything fishy about it except that it was a fishing trip. My husband and I went fishing in the pond behind our house on Monday, late afternoon. It was such a hot Labor day, but had cooled down nicely by the time we went. I sure was hoping for some catfish, but sadly it wasn't meant to be. We did catch several bass and speckled perch, though. Hopefully, we can fry them up with some hushpuppies, stewed potatoes, and sweet tea. Actually, my husband always fries the fish and hushpuppies which are so yummy. The only down side to our fishing trip was that the yellow flies are still horrible! Once we got out on the water, it was okay. Those buggers will just about drive you mad. They're small, but they bite and try to get in your eyes and all over your face! Anyway, we caught fish and enjoyed the peace and quiet on the pond. Hope your Labor day was great, too.

We do not have yellow flies, but we have mosquitoes and they can ruin my day.

Glad you caught some fish even if they weren't catfish. I don't think I've ever seen a yellow fly but flies in general can be so annoying.

Think of the most annoying fly you've ever been around, then multiply it a hundred times. That's a yellow fly.

Maybe, but we have dragon flies also. Maybe yellow flies don't like it farther north!

Yeah, I forgot those are shoes also! These are a type of bread. It's a dry corn bread mix that is added to water to make a batter, then fried in little oblong shapes in oil.

My hubby and I love fishing so much. When he wasn't working we used to go fishing all day and night. We used to return home at 1.30am.

@1creekgirl Maybe you will in the future. There was a day I was catching so many fishes and my hubby wasn't he got angry. He wondered why he wasn't getting any and I was getting so much. Since that day I have fallen in love with fishing.

It was, I did nothing! I mean nothing. Bass sounds better than cats anyways.

Do you have patience to fish? This lasts a very long time.

It doesn't take as long if the fish are biting!
