Rain, Weeds, Whatever

Originally, it was supposed to rain all afternoon. Later, it was changed to sometime this evening.I went outside to gather towels to be washed for tomorrow and took the cloud pics in the picture at the time it looked ominous even though there was some blue peeking through some clouds. We ordered pizza for supper and when I was leaving to pick it up I noticed the ground was wet. I hoped I either missed the rain or that I'd be back home again before it let loose. Nope, it began pouring when I got there but the rain slowed down quite a bit once I had my pizza in hand which was good since my running days are over. Back home again and the reason is coming down. It's supposed to cool things down. It was in the low nineties earlier. The other part of my picture is my garden, or weed bed. I purchased two rolls of black stuff to put down to inhibit weed growth. Now all I need do is get it under the flowers and weeds. Not a task I'm looking forward to but once done maybe my flower garden will look better than it has in years. It will probably take a few years to finish it. I have been roaming around hubpages a bit more again and see there are many more topics I can write about than there were years ago. I still intend to come here too, but unless or until my one main article there loses traffic it makes sense to write about other things that could do as well or better.

I have never written on hub pages, it is one of the few places I didn't give a try.

@MarshaMusselman I am glad you found it a home, I had to start quite a few blogs to get most of mine in a home.

I found that place before finding bubblews, about three months before. Once I started with bubblews I rarely went back to hubpages so it's a bit surprising that my one article is doing so well. Had I not written that one then possibly I wouldn't have found a good home for it elsewhere either, so I'm thankful for that.

I'm glad you didn't need to run in the rain. Your pictures look good and I hope the weeds are under control and your garden does well in the years to come. Good luck with Hubpages.

I'm sure it will take me a year or more to get the weeds more under control as I may not do much this year. Thanks on the latter. I hope to do even better with hubpages in the future.

@just4him if I get more articles with info that others are searching out would be the hope.

My daughter had pizza for dinner tonight. It looked like it was going to storm today but thankfully it never did. It's chillier here today and I'm not liking it. I like the photo you added I like photo collages!

@MarshaMusselman I make collages with my iPhone using an app called "befunky". The collages are only certain shapes you can use though. They don't have ones on that app like you post but it would be cool if they did.

@shaggin I wish the solar would show all they have available. I feel I have to put them on before I know whether it's something I want or not. They can be such a hassle.

No matter how much I try, I cannot like HubPages, I have even deleted all my old posts. I will go out soon to remove some weeds.

It's it weren't for my one article I may have done the same long ago it's only because I've had good results from the one that I'm interested and willing to try some other ideas out. Maybe they won't do well but that remains to be seen. First I need to write them. Have fun with your weeds. Since it's rained most of the week and we can't do any painting maybe I can begin working on the weeding too. But not until later as we have two small jobs and I'm getting my car fixed presently.

@LadyDuck I've never gotten bitten when weeding before and hope I don't. We have had a lot of rain so I should watch out for that possibility. Take care not to scratch too much there, Anna.

That is one of my passions writing. So I too write for a number of sites and always hope to get more people interested.

I'm not necessarily trying to get people interested. There's a lot that goes into learning a new site, but for those looking to the future it could pan out for them or not depending on what they write about that interest others.

@MarshaMusselman I meant getting people interested in what I write. Right now I have just been sharing my poetry on HubPages but I am thinking about writing about some different topics.

@RasmaSandra you can drive readers there from your WordPress blog but unfortunately not from mylot. Or if you find a topic where you took care of a problem common to others that may being in readers eventually if you're willing to wait.

The sky has been teasing us all summer. The clouds look like have rain but they refuse to share it with us. We need it also.

We don't needed it we've had rain ever day this week and almost every day the past week or so. Makes it very heard to get painting done. Maybe you need to try a rain dance?

@Starmaiden ha, I've never tried it myself. We might have dry spell here but not as bad as other states.

I did look at putting some of that black stuff down but decided it was more trouble than it was worth.

Maybe I'll do two sections and see how it does before tackling it again. You have more flowers than weeds. I think I have the opposite. One day I needed to redo where things are anyway so may start while putting that down

Despite our recent very hot weather the weeds seem to do so well!

Ha! I could do a dissertation on weeds. I have more weeds in my gardens than flowers. My daughter finally suggested this year that I try this stuff so I don't waste all my time pulling only to have them return in full force again next year. A homeowner told me today that I need to cover the black stuff with mulch otherwise weeds might find a way through. But then the flowers that reseed themselves can't. So, I may need to keep an area free for that type of plant. It will probably take me several years to get it done anyway and I'm not planning on starting this year unless I can begin once things begin doing off but before the ground freezes. The image is my front yard work flowers under the tree and weeds there and in the lawn.

You can have any of ours. It's been raining a bit too much lately.
