I am talking about famous persons, celebrities who died tragically while young and at the height of their careers. I will mention four tragedies which had me really saddened. (1) Princess Diana who died tragically in August 1997. I was really shocked and saddened at her death. The picture shows Princess Diana dancing with John Travolta. (2) John F. Kennedy Jr. He died along with his wife in a plane crash in 1999. He was 38. (3) What a tragedy ! three famous singers at the same time. I wasn't around then, but I love the song "la Bamba"- a Ritchie Valens hit. He was only 17 when he died in a plane crash along with J.P. Richardson (the Big Bopper) and Buddy Holly. That happened one cold, stormy night in 1959. (4) Whitney Houston. She died tragically in 2012. Is there a celebrity whose tragic death at a young age left you really saddened?

It was a long time ago, as a kid my family listened to The Grand Old Opry. My shock was that of Hank Williams.

@arthurchappell It is.There were a multitude of other kung fu actors after him but in my opinion the only one who came a bit close but still not close enough - was Jet Li.

Billy Mays comes to mind. So does Aussie Steve Irwin. I know there are others, but it always saddens me that so many talented people for whatever reason leave us way too soon.

Because she tried to do so much good, I was sad when I heard Princess Diana had been in a car crash and had not survived it.
