Have you ever felt the fear of posting on social media sites?

I can hardly remember the last time I posted on my Facebook timeline. Since I graduated college I find it hard to post anything on Facebook be it photos, thoughts or stories. Every time I try to post, I ended deleting my entire posts. I think visiobibliophobia is really real for me. Especially now that I am a newbie here in myLot, my anxiety doubled. Is there anyone who has the same fear as mine? How did you get over it? Thank you myLoters!

Welcome to myLot. Enjoy the site! The first step for all newbies is to read the Guidelines to learn what is allowed or not on the site. Then you can write a post introducing yourself. Tell us a bit about yourself. Furthermore, read around as much as you can, Like and Comment on other members' posts. Only then will members come to your site and do the same. This is called interaction. Don't expect too much money-wise. If you reach $5 a month (the payout limit), you can call yourself lucky. **Please add the name of your country to your account page.**

I don't really understand your problem. It's not obligatory to post on social media. If you don't feel good doing it, then don't do it. Easy. I live a satisfactory life without facebook or twitter. I only check occasionally what people I know post there but don't engage in anything. MyLot is the only site I'm active on. I've been here for three years. Up to now I've had no reason to feel anxious.

@MALUSE I see. Maybe the anxiety comes from worrying on how people would react negatively to your post.

If you are not comfortable with social media, limit yourself from posting there. That's why, we should be responsible with our activities because we do not know in the end it will bring us trouble and fear.

I believe that. Maybe that's one reason I do not post often. People interpret messages differently. Others may interpret it positively while others may find it offending. Thank you for sharing :)

I'm a very private person and shy too. Therefore, I never share anything that is private and personal on social media. I don't post my private photos on Facebook. I only share things that are generic. I guess that is why I don't really have a social presence online. And I like it that way.

@athaness When I told my daughter that making my account private will ensure my privacy, she said that my account may be private but what about my friends' accounts. Are their accounts private too? They might tag you in a picture and you will appear in your friends' timeline and then your photos or your posts will not be private anymore. It's best not to trust the Internet with your private thoughts. Like they say, the Internet never forgets.

I see. That is a wise idea since photos can be grabbed. I also heard of identity theft. My Facebook account is private. Only friends whom I know personally can see me.

i've never heard of visiobibliophobia before so i had to look it up. i don't have social media accounts like fb, twitter, instagram but it's not because of fear of posting. i guess if you want to be free to say anything, don't ever use your real name, real picture, or mention your company, where you specifically live, schools you went to, names of people (family members, friends, etc).

Hello and welcome to mylot. I feel social media is good to use as a marketing place rather than sharing pictures

Yes, I will. Thank you :) Photo in my discussion or in my profile? Should I always attach a photo in each post?

Same here. Facebook even reminds me to change my profile picture since it was the same for a year :)

Well, we are not obliged to post anything on our social media accounts. If you are not comfortable posting anything, then don't do it.
