My heart just melted...

I was gone from home for more than three hours today. I had to do some errands, sign some documents in the office, and pick up my son at the mall. I was away for too long I think and Danie girl didn't like that at all. She was left alone for hours at home. The maid wasn't home too as she had to go to her brother's funeral. Danie felt left behind and was lonely. When we arrived home, I could hear her barking as we park the car in the garage. She jumped on me the moment I entered the house, wanting to be hugged and so I dd. She made this whimpering sound like a baby crying and I felt so guilty for leaving her behind. She must have really missed me a lot. So I held her tight and gave her a kiss. My heart just melted for this little fur ball who I know loves me like crazy. Do you like being missed?

Dogs don't like to be left alone, especially puppies. So she missed you and you missed he and there was a happy reunion!

@toniganzon I had this dog, the minute he saw me heading for the door, he'd get there before me. I had to always work at outsmarting him. Please don't give your dog an anxiety attack!

@1hopefulman You never taught your dog to "stay?" Because Danie would run first to the door but the moment I stay stay, she would sit still and not move.. And then starts barking the moment I'm out of the door.

True but not all dogs actually. Bichons just happen to be like that. They don't want to be left alone and they get anxiety attack. It was not the same fro my previous pups before.

She really is and she knows that. But above all, she's really affectionate and very sweet. Hubby was thinking of getting another bichon actually. He never imagined he'd fall for this breed but he did.

I was crying a bucket of tears yesterday because it is the first anniversary of my pet who crossed the rainbow bridge. I made a status post on Facebook and I also changed my display picture here. I miss my dog so much, that for the past 2 days I call one of his puppies by his name. This was observed by my sister.

@toniganzon i hope Danie has already filled up the space left by Grumble that might have caused you not to get a new pet again.

@ridingbet She has but she reminds me of Grumble. In fact, just this morning hubby and I were talking about Grumble. He was the smartest shih tzuI've ever known.

I do. I feel bad for leaving my dog when I go to work. I've been home with her since I had my surgery, and when I go back to work, I'm afraid she won't understand.

Yes. I know that feeling. I get the same response when I came home after a 30-minute grocery from supermarket. It doesn't matter if you're gone five minutes to one hour., but for them you've been gone too long. Their excitement when they saw you at the door, wagging tails and dancing, leaping around, makes me feel happy and being loved.

Yeah, bichon frises are like that. It's one of the temperaments and they get separation anxiety. That's why people who don't have time to spend with bichons shouldn't get them as their pet. Separation anxiety could lead to depression which could kill them.
