How would you define this kind of person?

I know a guy who takes everything literally. He could be watching the Jerry Springer Show and think all those dumb relationships are real and seek out relationships like that, whereas a normal person can watch that show and know that some of those stupid scenario stories are staged and made up. What I am trying to say is this person has a real hard time distinguishing fantasy and reality. Does that make sense? Do you know people like that? Is there a Scientific word to describe a person like that?

Well my son who has Aspergers says and takes everything literally. Something we would know is a joke or not real-my son has to be told. I'm not saying the guy you are talking about has this, I am just saying my son has this issue.

Now that you mention it, I do remember reading about Aspergers and taking things literally being a symptom. That is very possible the guy I am talking about has that.

He sounds as if he is on the autism spectrum to me. I had many students like that.

Kind of like a Magician. You know it's a trick, but it sure seems real when it's done. I guess that person would be childlike, who believes the Magician has special powers, lol.

That is something new for me, as I have never heard of any person like this! I am not a competent person to make any comment about this person!

Why would anyone want to imitate a relationship off Jerry Springer? Its a bunch of ugly rednecks whos girlfriend is cheating on them with their uncle's cousin. There seems to be various disorders linked to taking everything literally. Autism and schizophrenia just to name a few
