The Double Negative

Canada

Imagine for a minute, a guy asked a woman if she’d go home with him, and she said “I wouldn’t say no.” Kinda sounds like a round-about way of saying “yes.” Note the double negative. So today my debit card wasn’t working in the machine. Lady behind the counter says “it’s not doing nothing.” Actually it was doing nothing. It was not doing SOMETHING it should’ve done, hence it was doing nothing, as opposed to “not doing nothing.” Before someone nails me on English maybe not bring her first language she sounded more Canadian then I do!! Anyone else out there annoyed by the double negative not being the positive it logically infers?
