Hi mylotters. As we read everyday in newspapers about the increased rate of crime wherein women are raped or assaulted, people are hurt for a theft or worst people getting murdered. I don't know whether there will be an end to all this or not someday?? Or will it get worst? I personally feel safe in a locality where I stay, however in different parts of India, people won't be saying the same. What about at your side? Do you feel safe staying in your own country? Do share.

I do feel safe where I live. But with all the reported crimes in India that I had read recently especially the rape and murder of women and young girls even children, I don't know if I can say the same about India. I really don't know what's happening to the men in India? Is there no more respect for women? From my observation, the rapes were usually done by several men; gang rape if you must. Perhaps, it's peer pressure or herd mentality that drove these men to commit such heinous crimes. Just my thought.

The media makes it look like crime is everywhere and no one is safe. Yet I look around in the place I live and see something different. My neighborhood is lower middle class, not rich by any means. I see people do things for strangers, open doors for people, share their food, buy a homeless person a meal, take in stray dogs, feed a neighbor's children when the neighbor has no money. These things go one every day in every neighborhood but the media does not choose to share them with us because no one watches good news. If you look in the places where the bad things are happening you can also see a lot of good things that are never reported on. I hope you continue to feel safe in your area!
