A New Cyber Card

When I tried to withdraw, from my EON cyber card , for the myLot proceeds from PayPal, two weeks ago, it was rejected. It said that it has expired August 2018, and indeed it has!
So, I went to the bank and told them about it. They told me to just open the website.
That, I did and was surprised at how high tech it was already, unlike before.
It asked me questions then I applied for a replacement. It prodded me to take a selfie on my phone, blink and that’s it. I also filled up the registration form.
After a week, EON texted that it’s for pick up from the bank.
Last Wednesday, I picked it up and was activated the next day. I downloaded the EON app on my phone and there, I was able to see my balance and other information on my account. After knowing the balance, I withdrew it from an ATM.
They didn’t get 350 pesos or $6.60 for the annual registration. I guess, it’s for free now.
I can now, just open the app and see if PayPal has already transmitted my pay to my EON card.
No need to go to an ATM to inquire about it, nor open the website to see.
Is your cyber card high tech already? Did it ask you to just just blink when you are asked to take a selfie?

I remember the original Eon card is more Orange than blue. So they redesigned it? I use to have one when I still live there.

yes, that's the new one because that has the emv chip. the atm won't recognize the old card anymore.

In this digital world everything works like lightening. One can transfer funds from one mobile to another in a jiffy.

@allknowing Yes, because having them all would make traffic in your phone. So, I don't download many apps. I only choose which I always uses.

What do you use for PayPal? Does it deduct a fee when it is remitted by PayPal?

@sunrisefan That's good then. I think, the bank that formerly charged me 250 pesos for the transfer from PayPal when I was beginning here, doesn't charge anymore. But I like it already with my EON card.

The old eon one may not have a phone app but they have a website where you can do the same. I've been checking my bank balance online several years ago from eon. I'm surprised you didn't know you could do that.
I don't like wasting my time to go to an atm machine just to check if pyapal payment has already entered in my bank account..

I didn't say, I didn't know that you can access through the website of EON.
In fact, I had that. But ever since I forgot my account name and keeps trying what the EON emails that it is this and that ,to no avail, I didn't pursue it anymore.
I just always withdraw all that PayPal transfers every time.

Now I still save all my myLot proceeds in my Paypal account, because Paypal charge me $30 whenever I withdraw it.I haven't gone through the rigmarole to get a debit card so far.

Oh, is that so? That's a big amount.
You mean you didn't give them a debit card or any card for them to transfer it so you can just withdraw from your debit card?
PayPal deducts only .94 from the proceeds of the $ converted to peso to be transferred to my EON card. I only withdraw if I already have at least $20 in my PayPal.

@SIMPLYD So far,I haven't withdrawn any proceeds from them.Paypal sets double standard of withdrawal fee.Now they charge $35 each time no matter how much you withdraw. If I ask for check, they charge $5 each time.

When PayPal transfer it to your savings account does your bank asks or deducts automatically a certain fee.
When I was still new in myLot I have it transferred by PayPal to my savings account. However, that bank deducts $4.71.
So, I asked other Filipinos here and there I discover EON cybercard. It only charges an annual minimal fee of $6.60
Now, they don't charge that anymore.

Yes, that is so true. Does EastWest charge you whenever a remittance from PayPal comes.
Before, my BPI card charges 250 pesos, every time there is a transfer from PayPal. That is why when a Filipino told me about EON , I immediately availed of it.

Glad to know that you have an easy method to check the balance and other details. In fact most of the banks are offering high tech methods for customers.
Actually I got the mail when I got money from mylot then I checked it in paypal and they transferred automatically. Otherwise I have not checked it my bank still. I got it in June (May payout). But I am sure it must be there.
Actually I got offer message of downloading app in mobile for mobile banking that time I was not using a good phone so I ignored now I have a good phone but have not checked the app yet.

Yes, PayPal always emails me when they are already transferring the money. Then I wait for 3 banking days before it is already in my EON card.
Now, I can just open my EON app on my phone to see if it arrived already.
Does your card deducts automatically a fee, when PayPal transfers your earning to your bank?

i was still able to use my expired card for many months but it only stopped when they required all atms to have the emv chip. if not for that rule, you could have still been able to use it.
the new card is free. i think that's sop for all banks. when we also changed atms at 2 other banks due to this emv rule, we didn't pay for them.
what i know about the 350 annual fee is it's deducted around the date when you first opened your account with them.

With my Savings/payroll acount that's also the case. I get to use it until I got my new atm with emv chip.
With my Eon cybercard, I am always deducted 350 yearly.
But with this one, I think no more because it has another savings atm card in which I can choose to use and activate. I don't have a need for one anymore so i just cut it to pieces.
