A Red Bird

Lately, I see a red bird every time I shut my eyes. It is following me. I looked up birds and found this interesting blog. It says that if a bird follows you, it wants to be your guardian. Why would a red bird do this?
I know this is silly but wonder if you ever had an experience like that and what you think about this.

@akalinus I thought it was something that you were thinking of. However, the fact that it pops into your head so clearly, well that intrigues me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum What is interesting is that it is persistent. It is like it wants me to realize that it is there. Why am I seeing a red bird?

When I was getting trained for Reiki we were told to close our eyes and look for whatever image we got to see. The Master then explained what those images meant but never saw a red bird.

@akalinus I don't know what species the bird you saw fall in, but yes,I have a haunting experience of crows following , even attacking me wherever they saw me.It so happened that a few years back I saw a fledgling crow sitting on a pile of garbage and lots of other crows perching on electric poles and branches of trees.I just went a little nearer to the fledgling crow and all hell broke loose.Crows sitting on branches and poles pounced on me and I had to take cover under the shade of a shop. They kept following me for days.

@Shivram59 That misunderstanding was a big ouch, I'm guessing.

@akalinus LOL!! Actually it all was a case of misunderstanding on their ( crows' ) part. When I went nearer to the fledgling crow,it did not go down well with them. They mistook me for their enemy with an intention to harm their baby and attacked me to protect the baby crow.

I believe in animals acting as guardians, and we can have several species during our lives depending on what we need and what our purpose is.
I have no clue about how birds know what they represent and go visit people. It could be about instinct, or superstition. I mean, superstition is about correlations that can't really be explained. It doesn't mean no explaination can be found in the future.
The article was interesting, birds seem to be messengers, just like angels.
The site links red birds to love and marriage. Perhaps you were reminded to take care of your feelings, show more affection towards your dear ones, or it predicts you're going to have an experience in that field.
Or it could be a different thing, take notes of what's going to happen next.
I had some experiences: I remember I had a blackbird getting close to me as I walked, it looked at me and tweeted. That evening I had a special encounter that made me wonder, i.e. got me interested in a certain topic.
