My specs (eye glasses) are outdated….!!!!

I have been using specs, consulted and suggested by an eye specialist 2 and half years ago. Last June I consulted again and find out that the number of power of my eyes shoot up from .5 to 2.5 which is enormous. However, I could not buy a new one on different reasons immediately. Recently I felt much strain on eyes and also have headache as well. Water started to shed from eyes after doing works on computer. Finally yesterday, I have ordered new specs. I hope I will have my new specs by tomorrow. I know we have to be more careful on eye vision. Do you wear specs and how often you do your eye check up?

That is a big increase in your number, please take care of your eyes.. I was suggested for eyeglasses while using computer and mobile but I hardly used it because I think my eyes sight has been improved in last months.

I used the word 'specs' instead of eyeglasses and both are same meaning.

My vision was good at childhood time. I think long term use of computer plus mobile then age, all does matter. Take care of your eyes as we are using gadgets more often.

.5 to 2.5 -oh that is a big jump! You need to take breaks in between working on computers or watching TV. Do not watch TV or work on computers in dim light. Take Vitamin A pills if needed and increase intake of carrots and mangoes.

Actually I consulted an eye specialist and now on buying it from shop, the person there told me, I was not using an anti-glare glass earlier which may be the reason for increasing the number since I work on computer. The Eye doctors prescribed me vitamin tablets and eye drops too. The shopper also advised me 'not to think too much'.... as he too felt I am too weak on health.

I am using the new specs at present and felt much better. According to him an anti glare lens is a must for those who are working on computer.

@Sreekala Yes, there are specific computer glasses, being sold at pharmacies. I think that is good for a person who doesn't wear a reading glass already.

@SIMPLYD I was using glass and number increased highly. My older glasses was not anti-glared so may be that is the reason of increasing number of power.

You need to get it checked every year or the power will go up drastically.. sorry you've been struggling with headaches and watery eyes.
