No photo this time. Nothing new to show. We've had some rain, hard a times, off and on all day. So far, thank Providence, the winds have stayed 20 mph or below. (less than 32 kph). I know that is bound to change. The storm has been slowing its progress in our direction throughout the day. She is gradually approaching us, though. We've had several instances of our lights blinking but power is still with us. For now we'll sit tight for the night, hope the power stays on, and wait to see what the morning brings. Y'all have a good night, and stay safe. I'll leave you with the NC Hurricane song.

Are you getting some of the wind from that system down in the Gulf that's moving toward Texas?

I love all the songs on that album. They remind me of what it was like growing up on the NC Coast.

Well, I sure wish you the best and do stay safe. I keep hearing all of the scary tales and meanwhile here in Daytona Beach Florida it is like the weather is waiting for the other shoe to drop. Very still, no wind, very humid, hot and the sun keeps shining though they promised rain.

Take care of yourself since my relatives and myself went through Hurricanes Cindy and Katrina.

Sounds like it is going to be reduced to a category 1 by the time it actually hits. But who knows WHERE it will actually hit. In the history of hurricane prediction it is rare they get the place it hits right or even the severity. I really hope this turns out to be nothing spectacular.

My sister lives down near the coast on high ground, thankfully. She and my folks stayed put because they're fostering a bunch of horses and other animals for people that had to evacuate. She just texted me that they lost power about 6 hours ago and most of the county is flooding.

@DWDavis I hope it all turns out well in the end. The worst is the loss of power, the flooding notwithstanding of course.

@porwest Thank you. We thought we were out of the worst. Then last night we started getting the Tornado Warnings.
