Hired a new kid

I came in today to a new guy working. He is older than 19 to work here but he looks young.
He seemed pretty smart 
. He caught on well. But I can see him getting bored or annoyed
He apparently casual and coverage for them on weekends or our holidays. Not sure who missed the memo. But this guy told me he has school Tuesday and Wednesday how he just wants a day or two here or there.
I reply I don't think one of you understand. I go just pre warning you the one on weekends calls in sick 90% of the Time, books off half the schedule and when she does show up starts pinning everything on other because she's lazy. I go so 1 day here and there will be every weekend .
I just can't understand why he doesn't fire the loser out right!!! He goes back and forth but never fires them

I Agree!! Eventually it will blow up. I think it will be soon. He leaves this week for 8 days off. The one girl called in sick this weekend and I'm sure next weekend he will.

Exactly right!! When I was a manager they'd be fired. 3 strikes your out. She claims her dad sick then grandma but not for 3 years every weekend lol. The laws have changed last January so it's harder to fire someone. But c'mon you can fire her.

He honestly does! Customers keep asking when I'm leaving on holidays so they won't come in.

I don't know if he's planning it after this guys trained. But I doubt it honestly.

Frankly he is a wuss. This kid started yesterday and 4 shifts 4 hours he is alone. The kid asked for my number in case if an emergency since manager is away and I'm the following shift. I told him it's fine for Monday, Tuesday and Friday but Wednesday and Thursday I work in the morning
