I got to taste some cookies which had a good amount of pepper in it. I simply loved its taste. That is how I suppose new goodies are included in the list of favourites. Cookies with pepper are now added in my goodies list and I may also try and bake them myself. Even the sweet and sour combination I got to taste in a Chinese restaurant years ago. Adding spice to sweet dishes was never heard of atleast during my younger days.

I have always added a little sugar to tomato dishes like spaghetti and soup, and a dash of salt to sweets, but I haven't heard of adding pepper to cookies. I love black pepper, so I might have to try it!

@1creekgirl There is no harm. Even if you do not like the taste, pepper is good for health

@allknowing Next time I bake chocolate chip cookies, I'll add some black pepper to only a couple of them, in case I don't like it!

Spice on cookies seems uncommon. Is it the same as mint?

I liked it and would not mind adding pepper powder in my sweet dishes. I am preparing jack fruit delight today and will add and see - not for the entire batter though.

If that is what you like, enjoy it! I am not a fan of pepper, I never use pepper, the only time I use it is in mashed potatoes and that is rare. If i want something sweet, it is going to stay sweet.

Some sweet dishes or drinks do add pepper like Mexican hot chocolate have chilis and there is a fire and ice, ice cream that adds peppers. It isn;t as weird as some think.

You can add chili pepper on your ice cream too. I never tried pepper in baking goodies but I have a doughnut recipe with nutmeg in it which I really do not like the smell and its taste. It makes me to nauseate. It doesn't have a strong odor and flavor but I just don't really like it.

I like nutmeg. It grows in my garden and I use it in many sweet dishes. But it is not hot like pepper. Pepper has its own flavour too.
