Might that be like just walking away from someone when they still want to talk?

@sharon6345 So, how would you want someone to end a response that you made if they feel they have no more to add?

@1hopefulman
I think if we start applying some kind of formal rules, it will take something away from this site won't it?

Yes, a question will usually invite them to continue a conversation.

@LadyDuck That's true! I am sure you have no problem keeping a conversation going for a while.

@1hopefulman If you ask nothing and there is not a lot to discuss, people like and move on.

I do not follow a pattern but sometimes end like
"What do you say?"
or
"I would like opinions- bouquets and brickbats."
or
"Have a nice time ahead."

Yes, the least I can do is like! On my own discussions, I'll often put a so that I can easily spot that I've give every person a response by looking at my avatar which will appear as the last comment.

@Mavic123456 It could be but does it have to be? That is the question?

That's what most people do and I like to "like" their comment as a gesture of appreciation.

The best way to keep a discussion going is to end it with a question!

Sometimes I just leave other times I say thanks or later as the conversation winds down.

Yes, there are a number if ways of making an exit. I like to "like" their comment and end it that way when I can't think of anything else.

@kepweng It is allowed but some people might not like it if we do hat all the time.

@kepweng Exactly! It is better to try different ways to close a discussion!

Great! Once we have the response and nothing more to add we can smile and move on.

So you think that a smiley is a better ending then "thanks for sharing"?

When one person stops talking then it's time to call it quits.

I like to use "like." Or use an emoji. I guess I could also say I'm done, lol.

Maybe I should say "I wish I could think of something interesting to say but nothing interesting is coming my way."
