Has anyone asked you what your blood type is, not by medical personnels but as part of a small talk? In Japan, asking about your blood type is as common as talking about the weather. The first time I was asked this question by a Japanese friend, I was caught off guard. Then I thought oh, maybe she was just worried about my health. Or was she asking me to donate blood to Red Cross? When I couldn’t give her a definite answer because I honestly was clueless at that time, she gave me a weird ‘are you serious???’ look. My first dumb mistake.
Some Japanese define people’s personality, gesture, even mannerism on whether you are a blood type A, B, AB or O and more. Some companies require this information during job interviews because certain blood types are more ‘favorable’ than the others. Online dating sites ask applicants to include their blood types for proper matching. Profit oriented companies come up with blood type specific products suited for the blood type crazies- from specialized blood type chewing gums to condoms. You’re shaking your head and I perfectly understand. Lol
So do you know your blood type?

I am O negative, which--according to your chart--means I'm narrow-minded. But I can tell you, I am the most open-minded person there is!

@sol_cee I like to see things from all perspectives, which is why I keep an open-mind about things. I definitely have my own personal views on things, but that doesn't mean I don't like to hear or see other people's views on things. Even when I say my mind is made up, or that I am set on this belief or that belief, I can be persuaded to change my mind if someone makes a compelling argument or presents facts or data that I wasn't aware of.

Same as @moffittjc I am of the pretty rare O negative group and I am far to be narrow minded. My husband is AB+... well, I understand him... sometimes.

@sol_cee You have not read well most say they are 0+ that means O POSITIVE, a world of difference. Imagine if a doctor makes your mistakes and gives me a 0+ blood ADIOS WORLD!
By the way 0+ (zero positive) is the more common 38% of people has 0+ (Jeff and I are 0- zero negative).

I see wow that's new to me learning from Japanese culture. But I doubt if the blood type would have any bearing on the personality of a person. But anyhow I do believe in the blood type matching since there are positive and negative blood type to consider and it should be matched else the baby could have some kind of problem when they try to conceive.
But as I looked on my bloodtype it certainly looks like am the hero type of a man.

I know my blood type. It is A+ ( a very commonly found group). However, I did not know that every blood group has some characteristics, as you have mentioned in your post.

@sol_cee I do not know its authenticity. However, I won't deny that I am not a good leader, I believe in leading my team (read subordinates) by example.

@Genipher I'm so glad to see you back. I'm still here in Osaka. Surviving a few hiccups, here and there. Can't wait for my vacation in December. Exactly two months to go before Christmas!
Are you back here for good? I can't wait to read your out-of-this-world discussions. hehe

Doing pretty well. Eldest minion got herself a puppy (he's 5 months now). He and our older dog absolutely love playing together.
Back to homeschooling. Took the summer off. My eldest is in 9th grade (she's a grade ahead). She can't wait to get her driver's permit next year.
How 'bout you?

I'm a type O (onggoy) but not sure about the signs though. I could be more Onggoy or less Onggoy.

I am O+; maybe the reason why I always have that "bleeding heart" for the poor and the oppressed!
