I was cleaning out my photograph folder which holds as many as ten thousand photos of my travels over the last five years, and I came upon this little memory.
Most often during travels, one stops along the way at the most exciting and obviously 'touristic' attractions. Sometimes the journey can be of a different exciting if you take the road less travelled, which by Robert Frost's admission, can make all the difference.
I love to stop at all sorts of artworks, shacks, stalls, parks, and gardens along my way but I have a hubby that likes to get to his destination as quick as possible, not looking left or right at what might be alluring along the way.
Saturday my daughter and I are off on some travels ~ she was selected to the u/30 District team of bowlers and I am tagging along for the outing. We journey with the team of five members, eight hundred kilometres to the tournament. Which only lasts three days, then the two of us will break away and enjoy the remainder of the days at a beach resort in Balito on our east coast. I am soooooo looking forward to this breakaway and hope it gives me some time to 'recharge' my disposition into a positive and energetic state.
I love reading Judy Evans posts: they take me to all places on another continent. Almost like my travelling armchair per se.
Have a great Monday everyone - thinking of all those that have been affected by the storms and hurricanes around the world. Nature can be very cruel.
My photo was taken in a little town called "Springbok" in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa - very arid county

I always choose the off the wall attractions over the normal ones.

When we visit new places, we never follow the "touristic" attractions. We are interesting to see what it's real of a place. Their street markets, local very small restaurants and bars, the people. I like the small Cafe in your photo, this is a place where I would like to have a coffee.

I have heard of Springbok. I want to see Table Mountain one day!
