Have You Ever Felt Like It Was Someone Else?

MyLot Exclusive #20 I remember very little about writing the first series of 'Hitchhiker's.' It's almost as if someone else wrote it. Douglas Adams This one isn't a tribute to Doug Adams...It should be because he was so awesome but it will have to wait for another day. Hopefully, it will be soon. And often...Instead, it's about writing. Or any kind of creative effort (Music, dance, carpentry or anything else), for that matter. Have you ever done something that turned out pretty good (Or, I guess it even could have turned out bad) and then felt that it wasn't somehow you who did it? It's happened to me many times. And it's happened to many others. Doug Adams isn't the only one who's spoken of it. And then there are "Maybe" cases. Like the song, "Yesterday." Paul McCartney has always said that it came to him in a dream, fully formed (The music but not the lyrics. While working out the words, he gave it the working title, "Scrambled Eggs"). Did Paul really write "Yesterday?" Or was he really tapped into some sort of Internet that is generally hidden from us? Perhaps it was gifted to him via some kind of psychic email? And what about you? Have you ever done something and then thought, "I love it but it wasn't me?" And it doesn't have to be something positive. This knife cuts both ways. The Defense at many a murder trial revolves around, "It was really someone else," and we usually call it Temporary Insanity...So why don't we have a catchy name for it when something good comes out of it? If you have a good story to tell concerning this, tell it here! Or any thoughts or theories you might have on it.

I have felt guided all my life. Many times I've ignored that at other times when I did 'allow' it I have always been astonished with the results. I've written many creative stories that came from somewhere. I just put the story on paper but the story was already there waiting to be told. I've often woke with one full blown in my head. It's a strange feeling. pleasant though. I can't fathom why anyone would doubt this possibility as so many people including world famous ones have told their tale. I guess some things you just can't know until you experience.

Even some people who do experience it, reject it. Usually on the grounds of, "It just can't be." Do you allow the guiding all the time now?

@xander6464 Yes, I'm always open to guidance now but I am not always being guided. Sometimes 'life' gets in the way.

@Namelesss Is it always for writing or does it apply to other things as well? So do you have to be relaxed for it to happen?

I know I've found a short story on my files and worked out that it had to be me who wrote but I have no recollection of ever having written it.

I'm going to count this as the first documented case of a story writing itself. Of course, the skeptics are going to say you just don't remember writing it but I'm dismissing that.

@JudyEv Could be but there's no hard proof so the question is still open.

@xander6464 I'm a skeptic too. I think I just forgot I wrote it. It sounds like my work so I don't think anyone has done it.
