Mini Upwork report

This summer has been really slow with no work from Upwork since last summer. I did check in with both of my book review clients. My regular one sent me a 30-page children's book to review from the same author I reviewed for her a year ago. It took me 10 minutes to read and twenty minutes to write and send in my review. And she would send me new work if she has any. As for my one I did last spring for Amazon, I doubt I'll ever hear from him again, since he said it depends on availability, skill level, etc. Though I kept nudging him for work every once in a while, he said it doesn't affect the outcome. If he has any, he would send any to me. But he said the same thing every time I message him. Meanwhile, over the weekend, I got a couple of job invites. Some I've turned down since the client was from outside the USA and some I wasn't in the job. But I did accept one to be a product beta tester for a 8-inch chef knife from Amazon. Remember @NJChicaa that you told me I should get a chef knife to slice spaghetti squash and other produce this summer? I do have to pay $30 to purchase the knife. My client would pay for expenses, the fixed payment, and the Upwork fee. I get $37.50 out of this assignment. I just have to test it out and give them feedback in a few words. This could be a regular task to beta test more products. Does anyone have any field on how to use a chef's knife?

Enjoy your new knife! You can find videos on knife skills on Food Network or YouTube I'm sure. You will be so much happier using that instead of a steak knife.

I will. I'll send you a photo of my new knife when it arrives. I hope I don't cut myself with it.

@KristenH You'll be fine. It is more dangerous to use a dull knife or the wrong knife like a steak knife than to use a nice sharp chef's knife.

Can't help you on how to use the knife but at least you now have a great chef's knife. At least I hope it's great.

Thanks Judy. I hope so too. I've read all of the reviews on Amazon. I just hope to use it when I need to.
