A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do

I am so sick of plain baked potatoes. And plain white bread. And plain broiled chicken breasts. This episode of IBS is a pain. Literally. I'm trying to be good and not eat things that make it worse. But I have been craving chocolate cookies like a mad woman. So, I compromised and made chocolate cookies with cocoa powder instead of chocolate chips. Yeah, I know that's not much help. But sometimes, you just gotta eat something chocolate. They're in the oven as we speak.

I'd rather eat a chocolate cookie any day, over a chocolate chip cookie! Enjoy:)

Well, I knew I didn't dare put any nuts in the cookies, so I'm hoping the chocolate cookies will help and not hurt.

@kobesbuddy Maybe that's something I need to get checked out. Our son-in-law suffered with gut issues for years until they found out he's gluten intolerant (but doesn't have Celiac disease), He keeps it under control and is much healthier. Hope your sister is better, also.

@1creekgirl My sister was treated for IBS . Eventually, they realized she had celiac disease, instead.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure Crohn's is much worse than IBS. Are you able to keep it under control?

@1creekgirl Well, I've had it for about 34 years but am now experiencing some problems which may be a long-term complication of the condition or my medication. I have an ultrasound examination tomorrow morning.

You are right when the carvings cannot be helped. Sure hope you feel much better soon. My best friend has issues with her intestines and a lot of food preys on her so to say. It is hard I do what I can since I live in her house now and there are times I will make something she craves and she can have it and other times she has it and then suffers for it.

I feel sorry for your friend. We never know if something will be fine or if it will cause trouble.

@1creekgirl A little bit of something nice might just help you to stay more or less on track with the diet.

That's what I thought. I ate a few of the cookies last night and wasn't any better or worse for it.

Oh, that would be such a pain to be so restricted in what you can and can't eat.

I'm thankful it's not usually full time, but lately it's been off and on for a good while.

True that. We need to spoil ourselves once in a while. Just like me, I am diabetic but I had a slice of mango cake the other day. I couldn't resist it. I just had a cup of tea and a cup of water with apple cider vinegar afterwards to flush the sugar away.

I agree sometimes we just have to spoil ourselves a little. Does the tea and vinegar really help with the sugar?

Yes, it helps decrease the blood sugar levels in your body.

I'm not a big sweets-craver. I hope that they hit the spot for you.

I am sure they will taste great. Chocolate is made from cocoa anyway.

I feel for you, I deal with the same. Sometimes it doesn't matter what I eat. Enjoy

It's such a strange condition, isn't it? One time a marshmallow threw me into an episode. One silly marshmallow! And heaven forbid if i forget and take a pill on an empty stomach. There's no logic to it. Sometimes I can eat many things, then other times, they about kill me. There's a really good web site that I go on called HelpforIBS with Heather Von Vorous. Lots of good IBS info.
