I think almost passing completely out in the yard would give most people a concern. Finally called an ambulance and they said high blood pressure and Vertigo were the cause. Saw the doctor and now more meds. Fortunately that is helping and it's a good thing too because......
Last night I saw one of my cats paying particular attention to something and I thought it was just a moth that had gotten into the house. I went over to see what she was trying to swat at and all I saw was what looked like some cat hair that had gotten twisted because it was only about 2" long and very thin.
I reached down to pick it up and guess what????? Immediately I was stung. And guess by what????? A Scorpion. Oh just duckie!!!!! And boy did it hurt. I squished the little booger and immediately washed the thumb with soap & water and applied ice.
Took my BP and yup; the pulse rate was very high and so were the other readings. Had I not already been on the BP meds for 3 days, I have a feeling it would have been at a danger level. Will somebody please send me some Good Luck for a change?

I've lived here 20 years @Plethos and this is only the 2nd time one of them got into the house. Now when I need to crawl under the house for some reason, you can bet I'm paying close attention though.

Yeah, I haven't felt too well @LadyDuck . The BP meds are helping. I guess a Scorpion sting isn't gonna get me down. You figure I've been stung by tons of Fire Ants; 100 Bees at one time; Poison Ivy all over the body; caught the Mange from a dog; been bitten by dogs; fell off a roof; almost drowned several times; almost lost my left leg to Gang Green; not to mention the X-hubby.

@nanette64 Oh my, your poor Dad. All those things are enough to knock anyone out, let alone an 88 year old.

Yeah, no kidding on the Scorpions; especially considering you take care of your gorgeous gardens. You wouldn't need those kinds of visitors @jaboUK . Found out my Dad (3 states away) is in serious condition. Congestive Heart Failure, AFIB, Hernia, twisted intestines, blocked colon, severely septic. They can't do surgery on the hernia because of the sepsis. He's 88 with Alzheimer's. They're trying to figure out what to do. It doesn't look good.

Nope @sol_cee ; I'm a tough, old bird. The soap/water and ice did the trick; thankfully.

My BP did drop considerably with the meds @db20747 , so I'm glad about that. The sting is good; I can see where it got me though. Hopefully because it was a Juvenile, it didn't have as much poison as an Adult.

The poison from the stinger can be deadly @YrNemo . Apparently I have one heck of an immune system. You figure I've been stung by thousands of Fire Ants and 100 Bees at one time and came out okay.

Oh no, like me if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have none at all, lol. I guess your cat was trying to warn you about that critter in your house. My cat did something similar with a mouse. She made the strangest sounding meow too. Anyhow, sorry for your "bad luck." You are definitely in need of a good luck charm! And yes, HBP is dangerous, the silent killer they call it, so glad the doctor sorted that out for you. Time to get out some incense or crystals and change that bad luck
