It Takes A Village To Write A Novel, Sometimes, Part One

MyLot Exclusive #21 I went metal detecting early this morning while it was still cool. That lasted about an hour and now my outdoor thermometer says it's 81 (That's 27.2222222 Celius for those of you who haven't yet upgraded to our superior measuring system) but it feels much warmer. According to the Internet, it's 85, which is even worse. Even if you're still using Celius. And that's OK because I really wasn't finding anything worth talking about. "Garbage" is how most treasure hunters would describe it. So I came home and I was planning on taking the rest of the day off. Then I ran into Drusilla, my Agent. She said, "Chapter Three isn't going to write itself, you know." She was talking about my latest novel. And was she right? I say, just because Chapter Three hasn't written itself yet, it doesn't mean it won't. But few people agree with me and the fewest of them seems to be Dru. After a short argument, which I won, I decided to celebrate my victory by coming in here and doing exactly what she wants. But first, because I always do what I want to do, despite what anyone else says, I'm going to write this post. Well, I'm going to write these two posts, because Style Manual, my Editor-In-Chief, is telling me that this is too long for one entry. So, instead of arguing, I'm going to skip straight to the Victory Party by calling this Part One. Part Two will up be up shortly.

"... superior measuring system..."!? Don't make me laugh. Fahrenheit is used *ONLY* in the United States and associated territories (Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands), the Bahamas, Belize, the Cayman Islands and Palau.

Don't take it so hard. You still have time to modernize.

@xander6464 You don't seem to understand that you belong to a tiny minority. There are 194 states in the world and only eight use Fahrenheit. Now who is behind? :-))

@MALUSE You are because you haven't caught up to us yet. And you seem to put a lot of store in public opinion. That can work for you sometimes because the public can be absolutely right but more often it is wrong. Sometimes The Beatles are #1 but more often it's someone like The Backstreet Boys.

I don't pay attention to Style Manuals when I write posts here. I know they say no more than 300 words because people have such a short attention span when it comes to blogs, but I write until I'm finished with the thought or purpose for the post, however long it becomes. It's good you're listening to your agent.

I used to do the same but many people simply won't read long posts so I try to keep them shorter or split them up into parts.

@just4him If you don't feel it's right, you shouldn't do it.

@xander6464 My long post is usually my Daily Bible Study. That I won't split up.

That's why I said SOMETIMES...I think I may have even addressed that issue in Part Two or Three. Or maybe I didn't. I don't remember now.
