Good morning.
My school is opening for students today. I look forward to seeing my students. I don't know how many will be able to make it, but I'm hoping at least half. Note that the public schools hereabouts are closed all week due to being unable to run buses because of the high water.
It seems fitting that today is the day we hold our school liturgy since the last day we were at school before the storm was also the day of school liturgy.
We are expecting sunshine and warm temperatures in the low to mid 80F 25C range. The rivers, while expected to remain above flood stage for several days, should begin to recede today. Then the real work of recovery can begin.
Please keep Wilmington, New Bern, and the other cutoff and inundated areas in your prayers. Those folks will be struggling for months to get back to normal.
What are your plans for this Wednesday?

Going to pick up our half a beef. Then I will decide what the rest of the day brings.

Wednesday was horse day with the kids. It was sweltering. Here it is Friday and frigid. Love Kansas weather.

We started out in the upper 60s (19C-ish) but got up to the 80s (25C) by late afternoon. My son in North Dakota called today and said they hadn't been above 60 for two days. I like the cool mornings but am still glad for the warm afternoons.

I hope you guys get back in the swing of things soon. And I am devastated by what happened to Wilmington and New Bern, both such beautiful towns.

Our little school is back to normal for the most part. The public schools around here are looking at staying closed until next Wednesday, if they can even open then. Not only are they facing the problem of flooded and washed out roads, the food warehouse was flooded and the freezers and fridges lost power so all the food they had in stock for school breakfast and lunches was destroyed.
