Project Update

I've sanded down my KLH Model 21 FM radio and am in the process of oiling it up. I'm hoping to get about $150 for it. I already have one on my fridge. This photo shows one surface oiled and the others not yet oiled. You can see how drastically walnut changes color once you add oil. That's why I rarely use stain. What are your projects for today?

It looks very nice! Besides taking care of two cats, my project was to get back to walking with my friends and a 45 minute class at the gym. That's it. I'm going to have lunch now and finish reading a book.

@TheHorse I planned to rob a bank ..I was down with high fever..and coughing like a mad person. Not a good idea..to go robbing bank. Everybody will get infected.

@TheHorse This is the produce auction, I am taking indian corn bundles and a couple of baskets of gourds that I grew. But in a couple of months they are doing a consignment auction and I have 2 single beds that are going and I need to go through a few things in the house as I am sure I can get rid of more stuff.

Walnut is a dark wood and it does not need stain, I like to see the natural veneers.

Exactly. The more "stuff" you put on a pretty hardwood, the more you obscure the grain and natural color.

They stopped putting walnut veneer on radios and speakers in the late 1970s...too expensive! I love the look.
