A Little Scared Of That Thing

Last night I sat working on stuff for the store, Sunshine`s homestead creations, while I watched Criminal minds. I was doing all of this by hand. I set in this office and I look over and I see it, looking at me, even under its cover. When I began the store I knew what I wanted to make and stock, but as time went on things have changed around I crossed off some of those items till a later date and concentrated on certain items but still not forgotten a few that will be in store sooner than later. Anyways, I will offer gifts sets sooner than later and I was making something for those gift sets. By hand but I own a brand new never been used Singer sewing machine that would, can be a fast help to those projects, paper, plastic, no matter it would do the job. So....... Soon I have to face my fear of this monster and use it. Its been 30 years since I used a sewing machine, I am not sure I remember how. I sew most things by hand and I am good at it. Within the next day or so, I will present the new gifts sets. Ever been intimidated by a machine?

I'm in the same boat as you are. I have a sewing machine that intimidates me. It has a broken needle on it (from the last time I used it) and I am so afraid that my eyesight won't allow me to get the needle out successfully or even replace it. I'll get my husband to replace it.

@andriaperry Oh I know, and mine didn't come with an instruction manual, but with an online CD, that isn't the same.

Frequently. Any time we get a new computer, washer, whatever, it takes me a little while to figure everything out. I usually do, but not in five minutes. Before you know it, you'll be sewing and creating on that thing!

@andriaperry I must admit I get a little panicky when my bobbin runs out or the needle breaks.

Typically I am not afraid of most machines but a sewing machine scares the bejeesus out of me. LOL Never could master those things so the few things I sew I do by hand. In your case however it would really be worth getting past that hurdle. Maybe feed it a few scraps before putting it to work will tame the savage beast. If that don't work try music

When I got married the first thing my husband bought for me was the sewing machine assuming that I knew how to stitch. I have never stitched and it was used by him instead.

A little bit. But much bigger than a sewing machine. You will fall right back into the habit once you start using it again.

I'm flat out not good at using machines. Sewing machines are mean to me. I hate trying to thread a bobbin.

Oh definitely although once I get started I'm usually okay. Good luck with your machine. I'm sure you'll have it mastered in no time.
