I have been awake since two this morning, with horrible stomach cramps and more. I already called in sick. Working, even if I felt better in time would not be kind. It seems there is a lot of this intestinal distress is going around. A co worker even confided "I have horrible diarrhea" as she stepped ot of the ladie's room. She worked all day sick. On the other hand our custodial crew came in to work, began with symptoms and clocked out and went home until she was well. I wish more people would be like her. Yes, if you go home sick, we work short handed, but we are less likely to get sick if you get the heck out of here. The kids come to school sick and bring us plenty of illness without co workers doing the same. No one is indispensable.

It is better to take rest at home when you are sick. Help you recover fast and you don't pass on the sickness to others.

You are right, I hope no one else gets sick. It is miserable.

How true! In my son's school, if the student is not feeling well, they will let them go home because the other students might get sick also.

That is how it is at most schools.

I wholly agree with you. Lately I have been very clear to tell everyone around me that I do not want anyone around me if they are ill.

Yes, your immune system is weaker because of your cancer treatments some years ago. Also, like me, you are getting older and it seems to hit us worse then.

@GardenGerty Right. My oncologist told me that I´d never have a good immune system for the rest of my life. The only time I was for a week at the hospital was when, just after my chemo, Claudia came with her children to see me. Sofía was then in diapers and suddenly she pooed. Claudia went to her home, but the damage was done. Sofía had a virus and she was well in 2 days. I was one week very ill at home and one week at the hospital.

This is why people should not work sick. Some people think they are doing their workplace a favour by not being absent but instead they cause an epidemic in the workplace.

@GardenGerty I used to be like that but then I started working I aged care and saw how even a simple cold can make someone really really sick.

You are right, when one is sick it's best to stay home, get treatment and rest until recovered before going back to work. It is for his/her own good and others as well.

When I worked I hated when people would come in sick. They did nothing but spread around the germs and cause other people to get sick in return. Hope you feel better and can enjoy the weekend

That always happened every year when I taught. Parents sent their sick kids into school because they had to work. Sick teachers and staff came in, because they didn't want the ire of the principal on them. When I was sick, I always stayed home to get myself better and not to give others my germs. Feel better soon!

I hate when people go to work or send their kids to school sick. Everywhere tells you not to go in if there's any sickness. Whether you can afford to miss it or not - is not the issue at that time. Not getting others sick, is. Wish more people understood it. Hope you feel better soon. And hope the hubby doesn't get it.

The frequent strong urge to go the loo that comes with diarrhoea makes commuting difficult too.
