Day 30 Luke 8:40-56 Luke 8:40 And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. 41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: 42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him. 43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and say thou, Who touched me? 46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. 49 While he yet spoke, there came one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. 50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. 51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. 52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleeps. 53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. 54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. 55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. 56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done. Life is important to everyone. No one wants to see their loved ones die. Yet, we know death happens. People surrounded Jesus when two people approached him. One, a ruler of the synagogue whose daughter lay dying, and the other a woman with an issue of blood. Both had one thing in common – the girl was twelve, and the woman had her affliction for twelve years. Though the woman touched Jesus first and received her healing, both were rewarded with a return to good health. When all seemed lost for the ruler of the synagogue, Jesus told him to believe, and he went to Jairus’ home and brought the child back to life to the amazement of her parents. As Christians, do you believe healing is yours today, or do you believe the accounts of what Jesus did for the woman and Jairus’ daughter? Too often our faith wavers when it comes to our health. We gladly believe Jesus can heal, but we hesitate in our belief when it comes to our healing. Why is that? Without discounting the validity of the Bible, many biblical scholars told people that the age of miracles ended with the apostles’ death, and those things done in Jesus’ time, were not for us today. And people believed the scholars instead of what they read in their Bibles. Jesus came to do three things: Save, Heal, and Deliver from Satan’s works. Miracles happen every day. However, it takes faith to believe, just as Jesus told Jairus concerning his daughter. Without faith you won’t move mountains. You won’t do anything you want to do, including receiving all the promises God gave you in his Word. The woman believed all she needed to do was touch Jesus’ garment to receive her healing. And she received it. When Jesus went into the room where Jairus’ daughter lay, he told them to believe, and he raised her to life. Do you need to raise your faith level for what you need? Do you need healing, or do you need to bring up your self-esteem and confidence level to believe in yourself? It takes faith to conquer everything in your life. You can’t do it alone. You need Jesus’ help to bring about your healing and deliverance from Satan. Everything you achieve in life, is with the help of others. Let Jesus help you today to heal those places in your life that need his touch. Let’s pray: Father, give me faith to believe you will save, heal, and deliver me from Satan’s temptations. Help me go forth in victory over Satan, as I put my faith in Jesus, your Son. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 21 September 2018 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

I think this is true. When it comes to others are quick to tell them to trust the Lord will heal them. When it comes to our own health issues, we can get down. Why this is, I have no idea.
