Birthday Breakfast for Friend

This morning I went to one of my favorite Laguna Beach restaurants, Las Brisas, to celebrate the birthday of a friend.
The restaurant has a wonderful brunch buffet every morning of the week, not just on weekends, so it is a nice place to celebrate special occasions.
The food is delicious and, in the picture above, you can see the view we enjoyed from our table. Much to our delight, we even saw two dolphins and a man paddleboarding in the water below.
After breakfast, we had a relaxing walk along the cliff overlooking the water. It has been such a lovely day!

@DeborahDiane That is key of happiness. Count your blessings at a nice place like the beach in California. It reminds me of the good times I had at Rio Mar (River Sea) Beach in Panama which is not closed to the public.

OMG!!! You just opened a wealth of memories for me! I lived in Laguna Beach in the mid-1950s. Is the Laguna Hotel still ON the beach? And then there was the Hawaiian restaurant a few blocks north of the hotel, also on the beach side. I could go on for hours with all the fun I had there!

@DeborahDiane I remember the little alcove in back of the hotel--good memories. I had just gotten out of the Marine Corps and decided to stay in California for awhile. Between Laguna, La Jolla and Beverly Hills I had a great time for 2 years.

@GreatMartin - I'm so happy you have fond memories of your years in Southern California. My husband actually grew up on an island off the Gulf Coast of Florida ... Casey Key, near Venice, I believe. There were only a few homes on the island in the 1950s, so he has great memories of his childhood there.

@GreatMartin - The Hawaiian restaurant is still there but, alas, the old Hotel Laguna is currently closed and they are looking for a new owner. It was one of my favorite places to go to brunch or relax on the beach. I hope they find someone wonderful to take it over. There is so much history there!

@RubyHawk -Yes, it is one of my favorite places to walk. There is a lovely path along the cliff, with a number of lovely viewing spots. There are also flowers and sculptures all along the walk.
