Had fun today!

Our Sunday Funday football party was a success. Lots of fun, laughs, and good food. My sister's kids started to lose it around 4:15 so they made plates and took them to eat at home. Our other friends with children the same ages lasted less than an hour before they, too, had to go home. Then the "old people" were ready for dessert RIGHT AFTER dinner so they could head home. I'm not complaining. I was ready to get off of my feet after running around all day. It is just interesting to see how things have evolved over the past 10 years. It is 6:15 pm and everyone is gone, food is all put away, and the dishes are all done. The 4 pm games aren't even over yet. It was great to spend time with everyone though. My crazy orange cat will sleep well tonight. The kids all LOVED him and spent a lot of time chasing him around so they could pet him. He is not used to seeing kids so I think he was pretty freaked out by it.

I wonder if parties generally end earlier these days, or if I'm just "old." By 10:30 or so PM, I'm generaly ready to go home.

I hear ya. I can't stay up late during the school year. . . not when I'm used to waking up at 5 am every day.

@NJChicaa If I have to teach early, I'm generally up by about 6 AM. Right now I only have to do that two days a week.

@Marty1 Family gatherings would be an exception for me too. This weekend, I have to play two "rock 'n roll" music gigs until 1 AM. I'm gonna be pooped.

Orange cat isn't use to being chased around, he's use to his quiet life:) I'm glad you enjoyed your gathering today and I know your food was excellent! So much for the football game lol
