Deep Web Vs Dark Web

What is the difference between the deep web and the dark web? It depends on who you ask but for most intents and purposes it's content and location of content. DEEP WEB: Non indexed or non categorized content from public sites, private forums, chat boards, sale sites, cyber-currency and private sites. The deep web exists under the surface web and contains data that's normally blocked from public viewing. If you have your Facebook posts set to friends only or only you some of that data is floating around on the deep web. DARK WEB: Purposely hidden content including sites like Silk Road (and all it's rebirths), pornography, drug sales, 'murder for hire" and those naughty red rooms. People often confuse the deep web and dark web. It is said to be smaller than the deep web but no one really knows how big either non-surface area is. It changes from day to day so links that work one day might be completely blank or dismantled the next. SURFACE WEB: Anything that can be openly accessed with a regular browser (Firefox, Opera etc). If you see links that claim to give you instant access to the deep web or dark web I can almost guarantee they are fake links or that they lead to something completely different (click bait) Where should you go to look for data? That depends on what you are looking for and if access to it is limited. If you wanted to buy bootleg CD's or movies, you'd go to the dark web. Deep web would be something like TicketMaster to buy tickets for a concert and pay with a credit card. A lot of people have the definitions between the deep web and dark web reversed or try to build them up to be something they are not.

The dark web is terrifying, I have only been on it once and it was because a bunch of friends and I were being stupid and we didn't last 5 minutes because it was mortifying and we found a snuff video that my step brother told us about. Never again, I rather just be terrified by watching videos about it.

Can't both apply? You can have a deep, dark hole, after all...
